On Tuesday, September 10th the Orange County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution under AB 1749 to accept liability for claims filed by Deputy Sherriffs for injuries sustained outside of the state while protecting life or property or preserving the peace during a domestic terrorism event.
The resolution explicitly excludes coverage for psychiatric injuries. Deputies who are on suspension or “otherwise lacking in good standing” are also not eligible to receive benefits for out-of-state injuries, under the resolution.
